Twenty-five years of work at the intersection of technological innovation and public policy, beginning on Parliament Hill and running from installing internet-connected environmental weather stations to executive roles in digital policy. Along the way: government relations at Intuit, senior policy work at Pfizer, founding Canada's Digital Policy Forum, executive and board-level roles with think tanks and not-for-profits across the biopharmaceutical and information technology sectors, and corporate policy at a global IT services company. Selected to the U.S. State Department's International Visitor Leadership Program on cybersecurity in 2018.
RiverRidge is the practice through which I take on that work.
That range of vantage points is the foundation of my practice. Having had the opportunity to see how policy is made from inside government, inside major companies, and inside civil society, I look at files for what is actually driving them, and for the detail that sits well beyond the press release.
I am also a volunteer firefighter and a ground search and rescue team leader, trained in the Incident Command System. The privilege of doing that work has grounded my approach in how decisions play out in real life, under stress and under risk, and not only how they read on paper.
The practice is deliberately independent. My aim is not to lobby or carry a house view, but to provide the best information and analysis available, aligned only with a client's need.
